1. Syringe Type
What it is: This field allows you to select the type of syringe you are using for your testosterone injections.
How it works: Different syringes have different volumes (measured in milliliters, mL). This field helps the calculator determine how much liquid (testosterone) you need to draw based on your chosen syringe.
Options:
- 1 mL
- 3 mL
- 5 mL
- 10 mL
Why it matters: The volume of the syringe you use will affect how much you draw up per injection, so the calculator needs this information to provide accurate dosage instructions.
2. Testosterone (mg/week)
What it is: This field is where you enter your prescribed dosage of testosterone in milligrams (mg) per week.
How it works: Testosterone prescriptions are typically given in milligrams per week. By entering your weekly dosage, the calculator determines how much testosterone you need to inject per injection.
Example: If your doctor prescribes 200 mg of testosterone per week, enter in this field: 200
3. Concentration (mg/mL)
What it is: This field is where you enter the concentration of testosterone in your vial, which is usually specified on the medication packaging.
How it works: The concentration is the amount of testosterone (in milligrams) present in each milliliter of solution in the vial. This value helps the calculator determine the amount of liquid (mL) you need to draw based on your dosage.
Example: If the concentration is 250 mg/mL (meaning each mL contains 250 mg of testosterone), you would enter here: 250
4. Injections per Week
What it is: This field is for the number of injections you take each week.
How it works: Some people take one injection per week, while others split their dosage into multiple injections. This field helps the calculator determine how much testosterone you should inject per injection.
Example: If you inject once a week, you would enter 1
. If you split your weekly dosage into two injections, you would enter: 2
How the Calculator Uses These Fields:
Once you enter the values for these fields, the calculator uses them to perform the following calculations:
- Dosage per Injection: It divides your weekly dosage by the number of injections per week to determine the amount of testosterone (in mg) you need to inject each time.
- Volume per Injection: It then divides this dosage by the concentration (mg/mL) to determine how much liquid you need to inject each time, measured in milliliters (mL).
- Tick Marks on Syringe: Finally, based on the volume per injection and the syringe type, the calculator calculates how many tick marks you need to draw on the syringe to ensure you’re drawing the correct volume of testosterone.
By filling out each of these fields correctly, the calculator will give you accurate dosage and syringe information to safely administer your testosterone injections.
