Use this TRT calculator to estimate the testosterone amount and liquid volume needed for each injection based on a weekly dose, vial concentration, injection frequency, and selected syringe capacity. The calculator shows the dose per injection, volume in milliliters, and the relative position on the selected syringe. Results can be copied or saved and loaded later. Always confirm the prescribed dose, vial label, syringe markings, injection schedule, and calculated result with a qualified healthcare professional or pharmacist before use.

How the TRT Calculator Works

The TRT Calculator estimates the testosterone dose and liquid volume for each injection using the total weekly dose, the testosterone concentration shown on the vial, the number of injections taken each week, and the selected syringe capacity.

1. Select the syringe capacity

Choose the total liquid capacity of the syringe you plan to use, such as 1 mL, 3 mL, 5 mL, or 10 mL.

Syringe capacity describes the maximum amount of liquid the syringe can hold. It does not identify the spacing or calibration of the printed lines on the syringe. Always use the calculated milliliter value and read it against the markings printed on the actual syringe.

2. Enter the weekly testosterone dose

Enter the total testosterone amount prescribed for the entire week in milligrams.

For example, a prescription of 120 mg each week should be entered as:

120 mg/week

3. Enter the vial concentration

Enter the testosterone concentration printed on the medication vial in milligrams per milliliter.

Common examples may be written as:

  • 100 mg/mL
  • 200 mg/mL
  • 250 mg/mL

Use the exact concentration printed on the vial. Do not assume that all testosterone products use the same concentration.

4. Enter the number of injections per week

Enter how many separate injections are used to divide the weekly dose. The calculator accepts whole-number weekly frequencies.

Examples include:

  • 1 injection per week
  • 2 injections per week
  • 3 injections per week

5. Calculate the dose per injection

The calculator divides the total weekly dose by the number of injections taken each week.

Dose per injection = Weekly testosterone dose ÷ Injections per week

Example:

120 mg per week ÷ 2 injections = 60 mg per injection

6. Calculate the liquid volume per injection

The dose required for each injection is divided by the concentration of the testosterone in the vial.

Volume per injection (mL) = Dose per injection (mg) ÷ Vial concentration (mg/mL)

Example using a 60 mg dose and a 200 mg/mL vial:

60 mg ÷ 200 mg/mL = 0.30 mL per injection

7. Calculate the relative syringe position

The calculator compares the required liquid volume with the selected syringe capacity.

Syringe position percentage = Volume per injection ÷ Syringe capacity × 100

Example using 0.30 mL in a 1 mL syringe:

0.30 mL ÷ 1 mL × 100 = 30% of the syringe capacity

This percentage is only a visual guide. The value that should be checked against the actual syringe is the calculated liquid volume in milliliters.

8. Review the syringe-capacity warning

If the calculated volume is larger than the selected syringe capacity, the calculator displays a warning that the syringe is too small.

For example, a calculated volume of 1.25 mL cannot fit inside a 1 mL syringe. The calculator will recommend selecting a syringe with a capacity of at least 1.25 mL.

Do not split, combine, or change an injection schedule solely because of a calculator warning. Confirm the appropriate syringe and injection instructions with a qualified healthcare professional.

9. Save and load calculations

Select Save after calculating to store the current result in the browser. Saved calculations include the weekly dose, concentration, injection frequency, selected syringe capacity, dose per injection, and liquid volume.

The Saved Calculations panel allows you to:

  • Show or hide saved results
  • Load a previous calculation
  • Delete an individual saved result
  • Clear all saved calculations

Saved results are stored locally in the browser on the current device. They may be lost if browser storage is cleared, private browsing is used, or the calculator is opened in a different browser or device.

10. Copy the calculation summary

Select Copy Summary to copy the current result to the clipboard. The copied summary includes:

  • Dose per injection
  • Total weekly dose
  • Vial concentration
  • Injection frequency
  • Volume per injection
  • Selected syringe information

They are not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, prescribing instructions, injection training, or guidance on whether testosterone replacement therapy is appropriate for any individual.

The calculator performs mathematical estimates based entirely on the values entered by the user. Results may be incorrect if the weekly dose, vial concentration, injection frequency, syringe capacity, medication label, prescription instructions, or other information is entered or interpreted incorrectly.

Do not use this calculator to select a testosterone dose, begin testosterone therapy, change an existing dose, alter an injection schedule, choose an injection route, combine doses, split doses, or replace instructions from a prescribing healthcare professional. Testosterone is a prescription medication and should only be used under appropriate medical supervision.

Always verify the medication name, prescribed weekly dose, vial concentration, injection frequency, liquid volume, syringe type, syringe markings, and calculated result with a qualified healthcare professional or pharmacist before preparing or administering any medication.

Syringe capacities and printed graduation markings vary. A syringe’s total capacity does not by itself determine the value of each printed line. Use the calculated milliliter result only after confirming how the actual syringe is labeled and calibrated.

Saved calculations are stored locally in the user’s browser and may contain incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or previously entered information. Loading a saved result does not verify that it matches a current prescription or medication vial.
