How the Peptide Calculator Works
The calculator uses the peptide amount in the vial, the amount of diluent added, and the desired dose to determine the concentration, liquid volume per dose, syringe marking, and number of complete doses available.
1. Calculate the concentration
Concentration (mg/mL) = Peptide amount (mg) ÷ Diluent volume (mL)
Example: A 10 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of diluent has a concentration of 5 mg/mL.
2. Convert the desired dose to milligrams
If the dose is entered in micrograms, the calculator converts it to milligrams:
Dose in mg = Dose in mcg ÷ 1,000
Example: 250 mcg equals 0.25 mg.
3. Calculate the liquid volume per dose
Volume per dose (mL) = Desired dose (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/mL)
Using the example above: 0.25 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL per dose.
4. Calculate the syringe marking
Syringe units = Volume per dose (mL) × Syringe calibration
For a U-100 syringe: 0.05 mL × 100 = the 5-unit mark.
For a U-40 syringe: 0.05 mL × 40 = the 2-unit mark.
5. Calculate doses per vial
Doses per vial = Total peptide amount (mg) ÷ Desired dose (mg)
Example: 10 mg ÷ 0.25 mg = 40 complete doses.
Important: Syringe calibration and syringe capacity are different. Calibration determines how many syringe units equal 1 mL, while capacity is the maximum amount the syringe can hold.
